Rivers Band

Making music and singing is healthy, fun, and good for heart, soul and brain.

Rivers Band is the school band of Rivers International School, Arnhem, and is open to any student at Rivers International School. The group is part of the extracurricular after-school programme offered to students of Rivers.

Rivers Band rehearses every Thursday afternoon from 14.30 till 16.00 mostly in 1.03 or another room at level 1. For small group rehearsals (dependable on availability of students), we rehearse every Monday from 16.00 -17.00 in a room to be confirmed on level 1 or 3 and every Friday between 13.00 -14.00, room t.b.c.

All students at Rivers Secondary School and the 6^th and 7^th form students of the Primary school are most welcome to participate. We expect band members to attend all rehearsals and performances.

During rehearsal time, you will learn to sing and/or play a pop/world song together with the other band members. The pop band works towards performances in and outside school. At these performances, we perform the songs as a band using amplifiers and instruments.

The band coach is Mr Simon de Jong (teacher in charge of Music at Rivers/Lorentz). The repertoire consists of (pop)songs chosen in dialogue with all band members. Any questions, please contact Mr. Simon de Jong at  s.dejong@riversarnhem.org.
